Election of Town Commissioners
There are five Town Commissioners of which a minimum of two must be legal residents of the Town. Commissioners are elected for staggered two year terms. The election of at least two Town Commissioners is scheduled yearly on the third Saturday in September.
The following individuals, who are eighteen years of age or older, are eligible to vote for Town Commissioners: (1) permanent Town residents, (2) Town property owners listed on recorded deeds, (3) individuals listed on recorded leases in excess of five years of property in the Town, and (4) recorded trustees of eligible trusts holding property in the Town if the first and last pages of the eligible Trust have been filed at Town Hall. Eligible trusts are those in which the recorded trustee and the trust creator are the same individual. Corporations are not eligible to vote for town commissioners,
Eligible voters may apply to Town Hall for an absentee ballot.
