Residential Rental License Application
Any person, firm, or corporation that is renting their property or a portion of their property must obtain an annual Dewey Beach Rental License. The license year runs from May 1st through April 30th. If you plan to rent your property for the upcoming license year, please submit your application by April 15th.

MULTIPLE PROPERTIES

If you own multiple properties, you should submit an application for each property. If your property is subdivided into separate units (such as an upper and lower apartment), an application should be filed separately for each of those units.

LONGTERM TENANTS

If you have a longterm tenant, you must still renew your rental license each year. Please submit a copy of your longterm lease with your application. Property owners with a lease on file at Town Hall are exempt from accommodations tax. 

LICENSES & STICKERS

After your application is reviewed and approved, a copy of your license certificate, and a window cling will be sent to the mailing address you provided on your application. The window cling must be displayed in a front door or window that is easily visible from the street or property entrance.

GENERAL REGULATIONS

  • When operating a residential rental property, it is required that you contract with the town trash vendor to arrange trash and recycling services. You may call Casella directly at (302)934-1364 to arrange this service.
  • Occupancy is limited to 2 persons per bedroom plus 2 in the general living area. Children ages 5 or younger do not count towards the occupancy limit. Do not advertise occupancy that exceeds your limit.
  • You are responsible for adhering to all regulations provided on the rental license application. Please review each item thoroughly prior to submission.
