Hurricane Ian Update

Town staff have been keeping a close eye on weather reports as Ian approaches the Delmarva Peninsula. At this time, those in Dewey Beach can expect strong winds, heavy rains, beach erosion, and extreme high tides, beginning as early as Friday evening. Residents should take the time now to secure outside items. Be prepared for extreme high tides, especially from the Rehoboth Bay. As winds increase, town staff will be removing pedestrian cross walk signs. The Town may also close the beach depending on beach erosion, extreme high tides, and safety concerns for pedestrians.

If you lose power during this storm, please contact Delmarva Power and Light (DPL) at 1-800-898-8042. If you notice downed power lines, stay away from the area and contact DPL immediately.
