"In Memoriam"

It is with great sadness that the Town of Dewey Beach informs its property owners, residents and general public of the passing of Mayor John "TJ" Redefer. After a short battle with cancer, he passed away on April 7, 2020 with his wife Bobbie by his side.

Serving as Mayor since September 2017, TJ Redefer provided positive and effective leadership in Dewey Beach, and was well respected throughout the entire Delaware business and political community. Due to the present national crisis, the funeral will be a private, family affair. A public memorial service will be held at a future date. All of our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during their time of grief. TJ Redefer will definitely be missed by all of Dewey Beach.
